After entering a new era of solo music towards the end of last year, Ellie Dixon has returned with the her epic new single 'Guts', "a samba-rock-dnb-pop-fusion". The track may be Ellie's most outlandish to date, but stellar production and an extremely high level of musicality have made 'Guts' a genuine Song of the Year contender.
Alt-rock duo Nova Twins continue their boundary-pushing journey with this incredible new single. 'Monsters' talks about understanding your own mental health, a positive message which is conveyed in the most high energy way possible.
After winning SBTM Solo Artist of the Year in both 2022 & 2023, the anticipation for Andrew Cushin's new album is immense. Love is For Everyone comes out on May 2nd, with the title track being released at the end of last year. This track is exceptional and proves Cushin hasn't missed a step during his time away from releasing. However, this new release 'Alright!' has taken the comeback a step further, and we may be seeing the best version of Andrew Cushin to date.
Pet Needs recently picked up two awards at the 2024 SBTM Awards, and new album 'Kind of Acoustic' shows exactly why. The acoustic-reimagined album sees the punk outfit tackle their past tracks in a more stripped-back style. This allows their raw artistry to shine through whilst breathing a new feeling into already sensational tracks. Picking one song from the album was a near impossible task, but feel-good 'Ibizia in Winter' is as good as they come.
Chloe Qisha is fast gaining a reputation as one of the country's most exciting new artists, and '21st Century Cool Girl' will only reinforce this idea. The first release following Chloe's highly regarded self-titled EP was always going to have big shoes to fill, but the new release may be Chloe's best song to date.
'lost to the ocean' provides us with one more preview of what Labyrinthine Ocean's upcoming EP will have in store, and it could well be the pick of the singles so far. Julia's poignant lyrics and haunting vocals drive a track which highlights exactly why Labyrinthine Oceans are heading to the very top of the UK's alt-scene.
Matilda Pratt is coming off the back of a huge year which included some standout gigs and the release of two of her best singles to date, 'Sunday Girl' and 'Burning Down a Home'; especially given the former was nominated for SBTM Song of the Year 2024. On her new release 'All That I Want' Matilda has carried every ounce of momentum she has into an infectious new pop release that provides the perfect opportunity for new listeners to get on board.
2025 is set to be a massive year for Madeleine McPherson. Powered by the 'Bubble Army' she has already built a huge head of steam through January which has culminated with the release of powerful new single 'out of my head (GO GO GO)'. The song features some of Madeleine's most raw and relatable lyrics to date, and is a perfect example of pop with depth.
New release 'Care In The World' sees Tom Collins hold a mirror up to the world in the most heart-breaking but vitally important way. The song tackles themes of deprivation across society, and does so in a way that utilises the full power of Tom's emotive vocals. This is as much a showcase of the power Collins' songwriting carries as it is a fine display of musicality.
This week's round-up is finished off with a very different sound to the other nine inclusions, but is equally as incredible. 'Fleshmonger' sees Yorkshire metal outfit Godeth tackle their heaviest song to date, and it may well be their best. The song is relentless in pace, featuring an agressively heavy groove that drives an immediate energy boost into the heart of listeners. This is death-metal at its best
