Everything Everything 'Mountainhead' Tour

Cambridge Junction, Cambridge - 02/04/24

Everything Everything:

After releasing their 7th Album 'Mountainhead' at the start of last month, Everything Everything have embarked on a UK tour which has seen them pay some huge venues up and down the country. Last night it was the turn of Cambridge Junction to witness Everything Everything's art-pop brilliance, with a sell-out audience packed in with excitement for the event ahead; The band more than delivered!

The quartet of Jonathan Higgs (Vocalist & Rhythm Guitar), Jeremy Pritchard (Bassist), Michael Spearman (Drums) & Alex Robertshaw (Lead Guitar), turned quintet with the addition of touring keyboard player Peter Sené delivered a burn burner of a set that had the crowd gripped from the word go. Artsy synth- backed music can be a hard genre to keep fresh for a full set, but Everything Everything managed it with ease, curating the perfect setlist that meant ever single person in the Junction was fully invested in the set, and giving all their energy back towards the stage creating a cacophony of sound.

Each band member played their role to perfection, with every song played somehow sounding even better than their recorded counterparts. This was spearheaded by the mind-blowing vocal range of Jonathan Higgs whose distinctive tones and seemingly easy use of falsetto make every song a memorable experience.

In my opinion Mountainhead is the groups best album to date, an impressive feat for a group this far into their career, made even more impressive when you hear how loudly the crowd responded to the new songs. Tracks like 'Wild Guess' and 'Cold Reactor' were sung so
passionately by those in attendance you could be excused for thinking these were long-term megahits for the band. This is a testament to Everything Everything's ability to keep their music fresh, but never lose sight of their signature sound

This show was an ethereal experience that at times felt as much art-performance as it did concert, and that is exactly how this incredible music should be delivered
